Draw Me In Slow Motion
2023
4ft x 3ft
Cotton thread and old bed sheets
This quilt, a reproduction of a 60 second drawing, was an exploration of what it means to move slowly. Hand stitching each line forced a slowness, a meticulousness absent from the freedom of drawing quickly. How does this slowness amplify my connection to the work? How does constructing a figure in fragmented, small pieces change its final form?
